Awkwafina
American actor and musician Awkwafina made her debut with humorous songs that dealt with sexuality and racial identities with a boldly comedic perspective before increasing her presence in Hollywood. Nora Lum, born in Forest Hills Queens to Chinese and Korean immigrants was her first musical encounter. She was a trumpet player. Additionally, she was given classical and jazz training later when she began to explore hip-hop as a teenager. When she was in the college years, she remained focused on her studies and majored both in women's study as well as journalism. While she was for a brief amount of time in Beijing, Mandarin language classes were also offered. After graduating, she began to focus on music.
